• Adoption

If you are looking to adopt a dog from 8 Below Husky Rescue , the first step is to fill in an initial contact form, once we have reviewed your application a member of the rehoming team will contact you to let you know we have received it, a volunteer in your area will be allocated to come and do a home check, this will be arranged at a suitable time for both the potential adopter and the volunteer, as a husky rescue one of the main checks is the security of the garden , the requirements are a secure garden with minimum 6ft fences.
Once a home check is complete a member of the team will then contact you to advise you of the outcome , this may be a pass or advisories may be given. Garden security for example.

We are based in West Yorkshire, once a home check has been passed, a potential owner will be invited to 8 Below to have a meet and greet with a dog that is felt to be a suitable for the family wanting to adopt.

There is an adoption donation to pay which is:

  • £300 for a dog under 12 months
  • £250 for a dog between 1-8 years old
  • £225 for dogs aged 8 and over
  • Fostering

If you a wanting to foster a dog from 8 Below Husky Rescue the process is the same as the adoption process. Please note dogs available for foster homes are often dogs that cannot cope in the kennel environment, need extra tlc or because of illness or elderly dogs they need a long term home to live out their days.
