EVERY HUSKY COUNTS

8 Below Husky Rescue is a registered charity committed to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of Northern breeds within UK, our experienced team has many years of owning, training and working with these wonderful breeds and use that knowledge to help dogs that find themselves needing our assistance.

Founded in 2013 with a desire to help, we now help hundreds of dogs every year find their new homes and also help educate owners on the requirements and needs of the Northern breeds. We believe education is vital in our work to prevent as many dogs as possible entering into the rescue/rehoming system.

We work closely with local authority stray dog kennels, other all breed rescues as well as owners directly when we know of a Northern breed in need of our assistance, we are very proud to assist with many of the larger national charities such as Battersea Dogs and Cats home.  We believe that transfer of Northern breeds to a more specific environment catering for their present and future needs gives them an increased opportunity in finding the most appropriate home.

On arrival all dogs begin assessments and this continues throughout their stay, we ensure they are neutered (age & health allowing), microchipped and vaccinated. Once assessments are complete we will then start the search for their forever homes. Every dogs journey is different and each has a bespoke plan catered for their individual needs and the homes selected after a vetting process are match with the dogs requirements. They are given as much time as they need and lifelong support is important to us, we are always here for any of our dogs.

Our work has many facets and with the amount of dogs needing our help always increasing we are always looking out for wonderful individuals to help out, whether that be with transport, home-checking, fundraising, fostering or admin, if you’d like to get involved please get in touch we would love to hear from you.
